Claims
The only part of this job that is ever really tested.
Everything else is admin. When something happens, you ring one number and a named person handles the insurer for you — including the conversation where they suggest the claim might not be covered.

When something happens
-
1
You ring us, not the insurer
Anything you say to an insurer's first-notification line is on the file permanently. Speak to us first.
-
2
We notify, within the policy terms
Correctly and inside the deadline. Late or defective notification is a common reason for a declinature.
-
3
We meet the loss adjuster with you
In person, on site. The adjuster works for the insurer; you should not be in that room on your own.

We argue the ones worth arguing
And escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service where a decision is wrong. We have done it eleven times and won nine.

Ask your current broker who handles your claim.
If the answer is a call centre or an email address, that is worth knowing now rather than on the day of a fire.
